Philosophy

The W.H. Pepper Preschool faculty believes that love, affection, and understanding are essential to ensure the social and individual development of each child. We provide an integrated curriculum filled with music, art, language, science, and movement in which each child is free to follow his or her own interests.

We feel the development of the whole child rests on a foundation of respect for the child and his or her rights as a human being. At W.H. Pepper Preschool we believe it is important to educate our children in a spirit of peace.

Daily Schedule

Pepper School has both morning and afternoon classes.

8:30 to 9:00 a.m.
12:30 to 1:00 p.m.		 Let's begin the day!! Greet the children and parents.
9:00 to 9:30 a.m.
1:00 to 1:30 p.m.		 Introduction of new materials and are projects, music and movement, stories, finger plays, conversations, and games.
9:30 to 10:45 a.m.
1:30 to 2:45 p.m. 		Activity time involves free choice of various centers such as manipulatives, music, art, cooking, puzzles, library, and snack.
10:45 to 11:05 a.m.
2:45 to 3:05 p.m.		 Outside play includes dramatic playhouse, building skills, peg boards, hammer and nail work, and art-easel painting.
11:05 to 11:20 a.m.
3:05 to 3:20 p.m.		 Closing of the day with songs, stories, and sharing.

Schedule varies in accordance with the children's needs.
